Siam Country Club is an easy 30 minute drive from Pattaya and was opened in 1969. Originally designed by Mr I. Izumi, the 18-hole ‘Old Course’ has since had a major renovation by the Schmidt Curley Design Co. and re-opened in 2007. Subsequently in 2008, the Schmidt Curley crew commissioned a second course called ‘Plantation’. The Plantation Course broke with tradition and boasts three 9-hole challenges: Sugar cane, Tapioca & Pineapple. In 2014 a third course was opened, this time designed by the IMG Group. The Par 72 Waterside Course is a challenging 18-hole beast that measures 7454 yards from the black tees.
In 2019 Rolling Hills golf course became the 4th edition to Siam Country Club. The latest Schmidt-Curley design is characterised by stunning visuals and optional lines of attack in a risk reward setting. Many holes have an abundance of centreline hazards that create strategic challenges and visual excitement. Large waste areas planted with casuarina trees that become pine straw forest, waste bunkers, marsh lands, lotus pools, and lakes are beautiful features that line the golf course. The talk of the town is the “Wall of Death” that presents on the 15th hole. The uphill par 5 is a double zig-zag fairway with the green guarded by a 19-foot pit bunker. The 18th hole is a lovely finish that wraps around the lake and leads to another masterpiece clubhouse synonymous of Siam Country Club.
